Located in the city of Yonai, Akita Prefecture, 屋敷神 Shrine is dedicated to the kami of a traditional Japanese house (aka 'tatami home'). According to local legend, the shrine was founded by a samurai who built his home and established the shrine after an illness miraculously improved. The shrine's architecture reflects the traditional style of a tatami home, with a main hall featuring a large roof with a curved ridge. Visitors can explore the shrine grounds, which include several smaller shrines dedicated to various regional kami.
