Wakasa-dori Shrine, located in the heart of Sakata City, Yamagata Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god Inari Okami. Known as Wakasa-no-Ma, it was an important stopover for merchants and travelers on the old Nakasendo Road. This shrine's unique architecture features a distinctive five-story pagoda and a large torii gate. Visitors can enjoy traditional Japanese sweets at the shrine's teahouse.
