大神宮碑

Yamagata

Located in Yamagata Prefecture, Daisan-gū is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu. The shrine was constructed during the Edo period (1603-1867) and features a traditional Japanese architectural style with a large torii gate and multiple smaller shrines dedicated to various kami. While the primary deity enshrined at Daisan-gū is Amaterasu, other notable kami include Shinto deities from regional mythologies such as the Yamagata region's own patron god, Koyasan no Kami.
