Located in the heart of Akita Prefecture, Eight Horseshoe Shrine is a revered Shinto site dedicated to the deities of good fortune, prosperity, and protection. Dating back to the early Heian period (794-1185 CE), this shrine is notable for its unique architecture, which features eight large horseshoe-shaped torii gates, said to represent the harmonious balance between yin and yang energies.
