Miyagi

Located in the city of Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Eight Horseshoe Shrine is one of Japan's most famous Shinto shrines. Dedicated to the god Susanoo, also known as the Storm God, it is believed to have been built around the 7th century AD during the Asuka period. The shrine is closely associated with the legend of Susanoo and his sister, the goddess Amaterasu, and plays an important role in local folklore.

Eight Horseshoe Shrine is closely tied to the legend of Susanoo and his sister Amaterasu.
