Cultural notes

As a shrine dedicated to fertility and prosperity, Richirinsha is often visited during the spring equinox (Shunbun no hi) for blessings of good harvests. The shrine also features traditional Shinto architecture, including a wooden torii gate adorned with cherry blossoms in the spring.

Historical note

The shrine was originally founded during the Edo period as a minor shrine, but its significance grew with the introduction of Shintoism in Hokkaido during the Meiji era.
