Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, located in the Towa District of Miyagi Prefecture, is dedicated to the Shinto god of war, Hachiman. Founded in 1873 as a shrine to honor the Meiji Emperor's return from Russia, it was initially known as Kagamiyama Shrine and later renamed to its current name.
