Benzo 八幡神社 is a Shinto shrine located in the town of Sakura, Saitama Prefecture. Visitor tip
To avoid waiting in line, visit the shrine early in the morning or late in the evening when the sun is not too high, to make an offering to Benzo at sunrise or sunset.
Cultural notes
In addition to its primary association with Benzo, the shrine also honors other regional kami such as the wind god (Fūjin) and the rain god (Raijin). The shrine's festival, held in April, celebrates the arrival of spring and good fortune. Unique architectural features include a vermilion torii gate and a stone pedestal dedicated to Fūjin.
