若宮八幡神社

若宮八幡神社, located in the city of Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, is a revered Shinto shrine dedicated to the deity Susanoo no Okami, one of the three primary kami of Japanese mythology. The shrine is particularly famous for its unique architecture, featuring a complex series of gates and vermillion torii gates that symbolize the bridge between heaven and earth. According to local legend, the shrine was built during the Nara period (710-794 CE) by Emperor Godai and his father, Prince Shirakabe.
