Visitor tip
To avoid waiting, visit the shrine early in the morning or late in the evening to witness a serene atmosphere, and try some of the local specialties from the food stalls available only at these times.
Cultural notes
Inari Shrine is famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates (shimenawa) that create a stunning tunnel effect. This unique feature is said to be a representation of the goddess Inari's love for rice and her association with farmers' prayers. The shrine also hosts an annual autumn festival, where participants wear traditional costumes and participate in lively music performances.

The shrine's current structure dates back to 1663, during the Edo period.
