Located in the town of Matsumoto, Shizuoka Prefecture, Abeneyama Oranmiya Shrine is dedicated to Benzaiten, the Shinto goddess of music, art, and fertility. Known as the 'Temple of Music,' the shrine's main hall features a large wooden drum that is said to have been used in the Heian period for Buddhist rituals. According to local legend, the drum was gifted to the shrine by a wealthy merchant who wanted to appease Benzaiten and ensure good fortune for his business.
