Located in the town of Higashi-Akita, the Moyoshidō Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the deity Ōtomo no Yakamochi, a legendary samurai and poet from the Heian period. The shrine's name, Moyoshidō, roughly translates to 'Clear Sight Hall,' possibly referring to its reputation for granting good luck and insight.

Visitor tip
