Outō-dan Shrine, located in the mountains of Akita Prefecture, is dedicated to the Shinto god of agriculture and fertility, Sugawara no Michizane. The shrine's main hall, the Ōdono-dai, was originally built during the Heian period (794-1185 CE). Over time, the shrine has been restored and expanded, retaining its traditional architectural style. Visitors can experience the serene atmosphere of the shrine's gardens and forests, which are said to be inhabited by local kami.
