Cultural notes
As a major Shinto shrine, 稲荷神社 is believed to be inhabited by Inari Okami's messengers, known as 'tsukumogami', which are said to appear as rice grains or stalks of grain. The shrine is also famous for its sacred vermilion torii gate and ornate wooden carvings.
