Nakase Ingoshinsha is a Shinto shrine located in the heart of Nikko, Ibaraki Prefecture, and is one of Japan's most famous and beautiful shrines. The shrine is dedicated to the god of rice, rice plants, and fertility, as well as the god of prosperity and good fortune. Visitor tip

Cultural notes
Nakase Ingoshinsha is one of Japan's many 'mukozuke' shrines, which were originally built to honor the god Inazuma no okami and later enshrined Inari Okami. The shrine's annual harvest festival, known as 'Kinroku Matsuri', features traditional rice-planting rituals and visits from regional daimyos.
