Cultural notes
This shrine is closely associated with the legend of Amaterasu Omikami, who was said to have visited Dayutsuji from Mount Yari. As such, the shrine is particularly revered during the Autumn equinox (kyūbetsu) festival, which takes place in October.

The shrine was built during the Heian period (794-1185 CE) and has undergone several renovations over the centuries, with significant restorations taking place during the Edo period.
