小倉神社

Located in the Hyogo Prefecture, Kokurayama-jinja Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of rice and fertility, as well as the god of fire. The shrine's name literally translates to 'small mountain shrine'. According to legend, the shrine was built on the site where a sacred tree with supernatural powers once stood, and its current torii gate is adorned with beautiful carvings depicting mythological creatures. Visitors can explore the shrine grounds and enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding mountains.

Visitor tip

Cultural notes

Kokurayama-jinja Shrine is famous for its unique ' yagura' tower, which houses a statue of the god Inari Okami. The shrine also hosts an annual autumn festival, where visitors can try local delicacies and participate in traditional dances and games.

The shrine was originally founded during the Heian period (794-1185 CE) and has undergone several renovations over the centuries, including a major reconstruction in 1692.
