館浦恵比須神社

Hokkaido

Hakupertsu-jinja is a Shinto shrine located in the eastern part of Japan's northernmost prefecture, Hokkaido. Its main deity, Eboshi Hachiman, is believed to be a kami associated with war and protection. The shrine was originally founded during the Heian period (794-1185 CE) as a memorial for Emperor Saga's victory over the Ainu people. Over time, the shrine has undergone various renovations and expansions, resulting in its current structure, which reflects the Kamakura period (1185-1333 CE) style.
