Located in the city of Namie, Fukushima Prefecture was originally in Namahage, however, it has been transferred to the current site in Namie since 1974, in reverence to the people who lost their lives during the atomic bombing. The Shinto shrine was initially built for Ame no Kami, a god of rice and fertility, as well as Namahage, a Yōsei (supernatural being) from the region's folklore. Today, it is a site dedicated to the worship of the victims of the nuclear disaster, offering prayers and a place of remembrance.
