Located in Osaka Prefecture, City of Kawachi Shrine is dedicated to the Shinto deity Suzurunokami Inazuma Iizumi no Kami, a regional kami associated with lightning and thunder. The shrine's architecture reflects its origins as a humble local temple during the Heian period (794-1185 CE). In 2016, City of Kawachi was re-established from its historical predecessor, which dates back to the Nara period (710-794 CE).
