Imamagasaki Shrine, located in Fukuoka Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the deity Amaterasu, the sun goddess and chief deities of the Japanese pantheon. The shrine was built in 1642 during the Edo period and is known for its beautiful gardens and traditional architecture. Imamagasaki Shrine is also famous for its 'mochi-tsukuri' festival, where large mochi balls are made and displayed at the shrine. Visitors can participate in this festival by helping to make their own mochi balls.

Cultural notes
Imamagasaki Shrine is also associated with the local legend of 'Tsukiyomi-no-Kami', a deity said to control the moon. During the full moon, visitors can view a beautiful nighttime illumination display at the shrine.
