山王日枝神社

Ibaraki

Located in the town of Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture, is not nearby, but close by in Ibaraki, the Shinto shrine '山王日枝神社' is dedicated to the god of agriculture and fertility, Yamabiko, as well as the god of prosperity and good fortune, Mochizuki no Okami. The shrine is believed to have been established during the Edo period. Cultural notes: During spring festival, visitors offer food and drinks to the kami. In autumn, sake offerings are also made. This Shinto shrine is an example of a traditional Japanese garden design, with carefully maintained bonsai trees and peaceful walking paths.
