Located on the shores of Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture, not Hokkaido, but found to be actually located in Hokkaido, the 二見湖畔神社 is a small shrine dedicated to the worship of the local kami, believed to inhabit the natural springs and lakes. The shrine's architecture reflects traditional Hokkaidorian design elements, with a distinctive wooden torii gate. The site is said to be an important location for the Ainu people, who revered the land and its spirits. As such, the shrine honors not only Shinto deities but also Ainu mythology.
