Godai Shrine, located in the town of Kesennuma in Miyagi Prefecture, is dedicated to the Shinto deity Tsukuyomi, also known as the Moon God. The shrine's main hall, a traditional Japanese-style gabled building with a tiled roof, houses a large wooden statue of Tsukuyomi. Visitors can also see the shrine's museum, which features artifacts and exhibits related to the history and mythology of the region. At night, the shrine is illuminated, creating a stunning visual display.

Cultural notes

The shrine was rebuilt in 1964 after it was damaged during World War II.
