平方天満宮

Shiga

Square Temple Shrine, located in the city of Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture, is dedicated to the worship of the kami, Ryujin (Dragon God), and Benten (Sword Goddess). The shrine's unique architectural style, Square Temple Style, features a large square shrine hall with a flat roof. This design is influenced by the Buddhist temple tradition, but with Shinto elements. The shrine is also famous for its beautiful cherry blossom trees, which are carefully tended to throughout the year.

Visitor tip
