愛宕神社 is a Shinto shrine located in the town of Katusura, Gunma Prefecture, dedicated to the kami Amaterasu Ōmikami. The shrine is known for its beautiful cherry blossom trees and traditional architecture, reflecting the Heian period influence. The shrine's history dates back to 1699, during the Edo period, when it was built as a minor shrine. Over time, it gained popularity due to its proximity to the nearby Kusatsu Onsen hot springs and the scenic Japanese Alps.
