Located in the heart of Dazaifu, a city famous for its historic temples and shrines, Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine honors Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning, literature, and prosperity. Built during the Heian period (794-1185 CE), the shrine's architecture reflects the traditional Japanese style with a distinctive five-story pagoda. The shrine is also known for its beautiful gardens and walking paths.
