Located in the city of Ichihara, Chiba Prefecture, Tenjin-sama Shrine is dedicated to the god of learning and literature, Susanoo-no-Mikoto's brother, Fujin, but also has Tenjin as its main kami for good fortune and prosperity. The shrine was originally built in 1553 by a local lord during the Sengoku period, but it was rebuilt in 1751 after being destroyed by fire. Today, the shrine is known for its beautiful garden and traditional architecture, with a striking vermilion torii gate.
