Jogasaki Hachiman-gu is a Shinto shrine located in Hitachi, Ibaraki Prefecture, but its original place of worship was at the site of what is now Saitama's Ogawara neighborhood. The current shrine building dates back to the late Edo period (1868). The enshrined kami are Hachiman and three other deities. According to local legend, Hachiman is believed to have appeared in a dream to the shrine's founder, who had wandered away from his village during the tumultuous time of the Nanboku-chō period. Today, visitors can see the beautiful gardens and experience the tranquil atmosphere that defines this sacred site.
