Cultural notes
Tennō-ji Sando Shrine is known for its association with the legend of Inari Okami's messengers, known as 'tora no kami', who were said to have brought rice from the sacred mountain of Kōya to the shrine. The shrine also hosts an annual festival in May to celebrate the arrival of spring.
