Miyagi

Located in the Aoba-ku district of Sendai City, Tsukasa Shrine, dedicated to Tsukasa Hime, a legendary princess from Miyagi Prefecture, is a notable Shinto site. Not far away lies the famous Tamahime no Kami shrine. Tsukasa Shrine was built during the Edo period in 1845 and is one of the oldest shrines in Sendai. The shrine complex includes several smaller shrines dedicated to local deities. Visitors can explore these shrines, including the Tsutsugari shrine, which has a unique five-story pagoda and is famous for its autumn leaf displays.
