Cultural notes
The shrine's design is inspired by the traditional Japanese architectural style of 'dai-yo-sando', which features three main halls. The shrine also hosts an annual festival to honor Fujin, the god of wind and storms, in April. During this festival, devotees dress up as Fujin and perform rituals to ensure a bountiful harvest.
Historical note
The shrine was originally built in 718 by the legendary Emperor Mommu during his visit to Okayama.
