Located in Echizen Province, Kinomoto Shrine is dedicated to the Shinto god Hikoboshi, who is said to have brought light to the world of humans from his home on the other side of a river. The shrine is famous for its stunning autumn foliage and traditional Japanese architecture.

Visitor tip

Cultural notes
