妙音辨財天

Located in the city of Katsuyama, Shiga Prefecture, Myōon Datsu Kaiten is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the kami of prosperity and good fortune. The shrine's name roughly translates to 'Clear Sound Discerning Prosperity Heaven'. According to local legend, the shrine was founded during the Heian period (794-1185 CE) by Emperor Enmei, who is revered as a powerful deity in Shinto mythology. The shrine's architecture reflects this rich history, with a complex system of vermillion gates and ornate lanterns. Visitors can still hear the sweet sound of the 'myōon' bell, which is said to have been rung by Emperor Enmei himself.
