小山神社

小山神社, located in Hyogo Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the worship of Amaterasu Ōmikami, the sun goddess. The shrine's architecture reflects the traditional Japanese style, with a wooden torii gate and a honden built using local cedar wood. According to legend, the shrine was founded in the 8th century by Prince Shotoku, who is said to have prayed for good health at this very site.

This shrine is known for its association with the legend of Urashima Taro, a fisherman who was granted a single wish by the sea goddess Otohime. Locals still perform a blessing ceremony during the spring equinox to ensure good fortune and prosperity.

The shrine's current main hall was rebuilt after a fire in 1716 during the Edo period.
