琴平神社 山王神社

Tokyo

Totsuka Kubikayama Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in the Totsuka District of Kanagawa Prefecture, but sometimes mistakenly referred to as in Tokyo. The shrine was established in 718 AD by Emperor Shōmu during the Nara period. It is dedicated to the god Yamato no Okami, a kami often associated with storm and lightning protection. The shrine's name Kubikayama means 'paddy field of the castle' due to its location near the ancient Totsuka Castle.
