Born from the sacred earth, Shitennō-ji Temple's birthplace is rooted in a legendary founding story where Prince Shotoku built the temple on Mount Mototsu in the 6th century AD. Over time, the site evolved into Shitennō-ji Shrine, honoring the benevolent kami of heaven and earth.

Cultural notes
