The Tenjin Shrine in Osaka is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of learning, technology, and the arts, Sugawara no Michizane. As one of Japan's most famous shrines, it attracts many visitors each year. The shrine complex includes several buildings, including the Haiden (main hall), Kondoshi (small shrine), and the Shōgen (a sacred hill).

Cultural notes
The Tenjin Shrine is closely associated with Sugawara no Michizane's legend, where he was said to have been transported from his hometown of Chikuhoku in Kyushu to Heian-kyō (modern-day Kyoto). The shrine also hosts an annual 'Tenjin Matsuri' festival, which celebrates the god of learning and culture.
