Goei-jinja, or Goei-gu, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of plums and fertility. Cultural notes
In Nagano Prefecture, Goei-jinja is also associated with the festival of Mutsuri Matsuri, which honors the god of weaving and textiles. During this festival, visitors can participate in traditional weaving activities and enjoy local delicacies such as grilled trout and pickled vegetables.
Historical note
The shrine was rebuilt during the Kamakura period (1185-1333 CE) after being destroyed in a fire.
