The Iseya Jishu Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Higashi-Matsushima, Miyagi Prefecture. It is dedicated to Inari Okami, the Shinto deity of rice, fertility, and prosperity. The shrine is famous for its vermilion torii gate and is one of Japan's most beautiful shrines. The shrine complex includes several smaller shrines and temples dedicated to various kami and deities.

Visitor tip
To make a wish at the shrine, tie a ribbon around the torii gate with a prayer written on it.

The Iseya Jishu Shrine is known for its annual Autumn Festival, which features traditional dances and music performances. The shrine is also famous for its sake brewery, which produces a special sake made from rice grown in the surrounding area.
Historical note
The shrine was founded in 1594 by Hachiman, the Shinto god of war and patron deity of the Yamato dynasty.
