Hachiman Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of war, Hachiman Okami, located in Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture. The shrine was built during the Heian period (794-1185 CE) and has undergone several renovations throughout its history. Visitors can explore the shrine's traditional architecture, which features a large torii gate and a five-story pagoda, and participate in festivals such as the Sanja Matsuri in May. The shrine is also known for its association with the legendary Minamoto no Yoshitsune, a famous samurai warrior.

Cultural notes
The shrine is closely associated with the legend of Minamoto no Yoshitsune, who allegedly visited the shrine during his exile. The Minamoto clan was also enshrined here for their military prowess.
