Akita Prefectural Shrine of the Autumn Leaf, Akibayashi Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Akita city. Dedicated to Okuninushi no Kami and Kojiki no Kami, it is one of Japan's oldest shrines and revered for its association with the 'spiritual autumn', or 'Akizuki'. Historical note
Founded in 645 CE during the Asuka period, it was initially called 'Shinobu no Sono'.
