Iwami Okudaira Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in the city of Tottori, on the Sea of Japan coast. This shrine is famous for its beautiful gardens and its association with the mythological figure of Sugawara no Michizane, also known as Saigū Daikokuten or Saigū Danzō. The shrine is said to have been founded in 1604 during the Edo period.

Visitor tip
Visitors should avoid visiting during peak hours (12pm-3pm) as it can be very crowded, and instead consider visiting early in the morning or later in the evening to enjoy a more peaceful atmosphere.
