Tsukubetsu Inari Shrine is famous for its association with rice and fertility, as well as its connection to the Japanese folk tale 'The Story of Tsukiyomi', which tells the story of the sun goddess Amaterasu's brother, Tsukiyomi.

Historical note

The original shrine was built in 1873 during the Meiji period and relocated to its current site in 1921.
