Cultural notes
In Shiga Prefecture, it is customary to offer a prayer (norito) for the safe return of fishermen at the shrine. The shrine also hosts an annual festival (matsuri) in May, which features traditional dances and food stalls. Slender bamboo stalks are often offered as prayers to Sasame-Okami.
