Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto is also associated with the moon and the ocean. Visitors can experience these themes during the annual 'Tsukiyabashi' festival, which honors the god's association with the moon. The shrine's beautiful gardens also reflect Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto's connection to the natural world.
Historical note
The current main hall was built in 1895, but the shrine's history dates back to the Heian period (794-1185 CE).
