Located in the city of Ichihara, Chiba Prefecture, Shingen shrine is a historic Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of thunder, Raijin. The shrine's architecture reflects traditional Japanese design, with a wooden torii gate and a honden featuring a curved roof. The shrine's grounds also feature several smaller shrines and altars, as well as a large stone monument marking the grave of a local samurai who died in battle.

Cultural notes
Shingen shrine is associated with the legend of Raijin's involvement in a local earthquake. According to myth, Raijin was angered by the local villagers' disrespect for him and struck the area with his thunderbolt, causing widespread destruction. As a result, the shrine offers prayers to Raijin to appease him and bring good fortune.
Historical note
The shrine was rebuilt in 1697 after being destroyed during the Genroku period.
