Nishi-yamato Jinja is a Shinto shrine located in the Kita-ku district of Osaka. The shrine dates back to the Heian period and is dedicated to Inari Okami, the kami of rice, fertility, and prosperity. Cultural notes
The shrine is famous for its association with rice production and fertility. In Shinto mythology, Inari Okami was believed to have created the first rice paddies. During the Obon festival, locals would offer food and drinks to the kami, believing that it brought prosperity and good fortune.
