The shrine was constructed to honor the god of agriculture and fertility, Metabun-no-Hachiman, a regional deity believed to protect crops and ensure bountiful harvests. Located near the base of Mount Sanmu, the shrine is famous for its stunning pine tree, known as the 'one-branch pine,' which is said to be over 800 years old.
