Middle of the Shiga River, the shrine is situated on a hilltop and surrounded by lush greenery. The shrine's architecture is characterized by a traditional Japanese style with a wooden torii gate and a large vermilion roof. The deity enshrined here is not clearly documented, but it may be related to the region's agricultural kami.

Cultural notes

The shrine hosts a spring festival, known as Hanami, to celebrate the arrival of cherry blossoms in late March. Local legend has it that the god of the shrine was responsible for discovering the location of the cherry blossom trees by following their fragrance.

The shrine was founded in the Edo period (1603-1868), during which time Shiga Prefecture was part of the Osaka domain.
